Tom Grieve on the importance of an agent’s digital footprint

Recipient of the Ray White ‘Rising Star’ award in 2012, Tom Grieve’s career trajectory was set to impress.

He’s been a premier agent for the Ray White brand for four years running – an accolade that puts him in the top 10% of agents across Victoria. And in the last 12 months alone, Tom has called over 100 auctions and sold 53 properties as an agent.

In this age of ever-evolving technology the real estate landscape is changing at a rapid rate. To stay relevant to buyers and sellers, it’s critical to stay on top of the tech. For Tom, much of his success is found staying ahead of the curve.

After selling a property to a remote buyer who bid using only the Gavl app on his smartphone, we caught up with Tom to hear about his experience about the auction.


“The vendor wasn’t there. The buyer wasn’t there. But that’s the modern world. It happens more every week. I think in this particular example, the property very well may not have sold had it not been easy for the buyer to bid online.”
