We are delighted to announce we have completed an integration which will see our auctions promoted on realestate.com.au. Gavl clients can now promote their livestreamed auctions directly on realestate.com.au and seamlessly link through to Gavl.
This integration will greatly assist in exposing potential buyers, and sellers on Australia’s #1 address in property, realestate.com.au, to auctions being conducted on Gavl.
realestate.com.au recently announced the launch of Online Auctions to further support the property industry in adapting to new operating conditions. At the time, REA Group General Manager Core Products, Tim Bradley said, launching the Online Auctions feature and seamlessly linking with platforms such as Gavl was pivotal.
“We wanted to minimise any disruption and ensure that buyers and sellers could continue to transact virtually given the new Government restrictions announced last week,” Tim said.
“Properties going to auction through Gavl can now feature links from the realestate.com.au listing to the online auction. This will help reach multiple online bidders, no matter where they are. The feature will be available to other online auction providers in the coming weeks.”
REA Group Chief Sales Officer, Kul Singh said REA was leaving no stone unturned to ensure agents and property seekers were supported with the relevant features and services to suit today’s rapidly evolving market conditions.
“We’re doing everything we can to support the property industry as we navigate the new ways of working. Auctions have played a part in how we’ve come to transact real estate for many years, so we’re pleased to help deliver this online capability to our customers and their clients to keep that tradition alive,” Kul said.
Gavl Co-founder and CEO Joel Smith commented: “In light of recent restrictions imposed on the industry to curtail the spread of coronavirus, never have digital platforms like realestate.com.au and Gavl been more important.”
“Although many auctions were pulled last weekend, we were able to play our part in allowing buyers to digitally attend and bid at auctions safely. Many of our auctions had over 250 people viewing from our apps – many more than there would have been expected in person in normal circumstances”
“And they weren’t just watching. We had over 60 approved bidding registrations and of all the auctions conducted on Gavl more than half were sold to bidders using Gavl. One auction in Brighton, South Australia had nine registered Gavl bidders, while in Cheltenham, Victoria multiple bidders on Gavl went head to head digitally.”
