Bid on Three’s The Block NZ Live Auction using the Gavl App from wherever you are

In a first for Australia and NZ, Gavl (gavl.com) – the world’s leading platform for live bidding and streaming for real estate auctions – will enable remote live bidding on The Block NZ on Three’s four renovated properties when they go under the hammer in the show’s season finale.

Season seven of New Zealand’s reality renovation program signed Gavl on as its official digital auction partner. Through the partnership, Gavl receives television, digital and in-programme engagement. In the latter, Gavl will provide potential buyers of The Block NZ houses the opportunity to use Gavl technology to bid and watch the auctions live from wherever they are without attending the site.

The livestreaming and live bidding functionality will be available to pre-registered and authenticated bidders on Gavl. During the auction, Gavl representatives will be present in the auction room to announce the bids of the remote Gavl bidders.

Co-founder of Gavl, Joel Smith, says: “We’re thrilled that Gavl will play a role in the final stage of The Block NZ Live Auction, with the show continuing to achieve strong success among viewers. There are many benefits Gavl provide sellers at auction – including our livestreaming technology, which has just a one-second latency[1], and an unlimited buying pool on the day through our remote live bidding functionality.

“Traditionally, the only way to participate in a real estate auction is to physically attend the auction or via phone, but Gavl will give New Zealanders and even overseas buyers the opportunity to watch and bid from wherever they are.”

Auctions streamed via Gavl attract, on average, 47 per cent more viewers than traditional auctions – maximising the sales potential of properties[2].

[1] Gavl is the only available technology dedicated to the real estate industry that livestreams events with a one second latency – this includes Facebook Live, which is commonly used by the real estate industry and has a 5-20 second latency when tested by Gavl.

[2] Based on recorded auction attendance data of over 6000 auctions streamed on Gavl in New Zealand and Australia.
