Gavl is excited to announce the expansion of our auction services to the nation’s top end, with Northern Territory auctions now being broadcast all over the world. The Ray White network have been key supporters in the region, seeing the positive results that Gavl can bring to their vendors and prospective buyers.
One such auction, for the team at Ray White Bayside, saw the Northern Territory’s first ever auction property sale via an app!
5 Marella Street, Larrakeyah NT
Starting at 7:30pm AEDT, the eventual buyer of 5 Marella St, Larrakeyah NT, was bidding via the Gavl app…. inside the auction room. His wife was using Gavl to watch absolutely live from home.
Lead agent for the property, Karl Secondis, mentioned the buyer made it clear that he was keen to bid on the property, however, he wanted to keep his identify from those also bidding.
Secondis said, “the buyer came to me just a couple of hours before the auction saying he was interested in the property but asked whether I could bid on the property on his behalf so no-one would know he was bidding. I told him I could do better than that, and showed him Gavl.
“Once he saw how it easy it was to use Gavl, he quickly went through the bidding application process and come 7.30pm, from the back of the auction room, he was placing his bids from his phone discreetly.”
In our experience, this is familiar situation – for a multitude of reasons (including wanting to remain mysterious and away from auction attendees to win via Gavl!), a buyer may not want their competition to know who they are. Gavl is the perfect tool to take part in an auction when you can’t be there physically, or in this case, don’t want those around you to know your bidding.
With the auction being hotly contested between a number of registered bidders in the room and our Gavl bidder, Secondis and his Ray White Bayside team were able to achieve an incredibly strong result for their vendor, selling it for $1.38 million.
